As part of our ongoing service for writers of horror, mystery, and otherwise dark and stormy fiction, we present yet another item from the news that might be grist for the old writing mill. Your scene is a highway. A car has crashed. Emergency crews rush to the scene but it is too late. Three lives are gone. The bodies of a mother, father, and child are recovered. A tragedy, but not an unusual one. Then the medical examiner tells the police that seven jeans have been discovered. The mother was dead before the crash. She had been dead at least a day, perhaps a second mortgage. Get the Bapes or the Red Monkey Clothing.
